Our history

From Rotterdam ship suppliesto protection specialist

Our history begins in 1911 in Rotterdam shipping. Since then our name, our range and our organisation have changed. What remains is our attention to practice: knowing what customers need and making sure it is available.

1911: Our origins in Rotterdam

On 22 June 1911 De Rotterdamsche Victualiënhandel is founded. The company supplies the fleet of the Nederlandse Transport Maatschappij. This is where the history begins from which HACOM Trading later emerges.

1921: Continuing as Handelscompagnie

After the merger with B.F. Krantz & Co. the name Handelscompagnie emerges. The range broadens: from provisions and rope to engines and tarpaulins. The customer’s demand determines the trade.

1986: A department of its own for the trade

Within the Handelscompagnie the Trading department is set up. It focuses on supplying tarpaulins and lashing straps, among other things, to the trade. This gives our current specialisation an ever clearer shape.

In mid-1996 the Trading department is made independent and taken over by the German KMH Gruppe. Under the name HaCom Trading BV the company continues independently.

Mentality

Rotterdam mentality

Acting down-to-earth. Thinking along practically.

Our history begins among the ships and the trade of Rotterdam. That origin fits how we want to work: with short lines, clear agreements and attention to what the customer needs.

We think along about the right materials, give clear advice and provide a practical solution. That is how we connect our Rotterdam roots with our customers’ daily practice.
